What is the Episcopal Chaplaincy at Harvard?
We are a community at Harvard University that proclaims Christ’s life, death, and resurrection; embraces faith, mystery, and doubt; and strives to love like Jesus through the grace of the Holy Spirit. We pray, serve our neighbor, and challenge one another to grow in faith.
Join us each week to worship, find a home away from home, and explore a bridge of critical inquiry between academic and religious life. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, and no matter your race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and disability or ability, the Episcopal Chaplaincy at Harvard welcomes you.
finding COMMUNITY IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
During the 2020-2021 academic year, most of the undergraduate population was not allowed to live on campus. The Episcopal Chaplaincy at Harvard allowed the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis to lead us into new ways of being. We offered a weekly Eucharist, live-streamed from our garden on Sunday evenings. Our experience was primarily informed by worshiping outdoors in a ‘sacred tent’ structure that is at once sanctuary, art installation, and gathering space.
