Worship & Fellowship
Sundays at 5:30pm
The center of our life together is our Sunday service of Holy Eucharist (also called Holy Communion, or Mass). This takes place at Christ Church Cambridge, right in Harvard Square, every Sunday at 5:30pm during the academic year.
After the service ends around 6:30, we move into the Parish Hall and enjoy a dinner together; we hope you’ll join us!
Mondays at 12 noon
On Mondays we join the Harvard Divinity School’s Episcopal/Anglican Fellowship for a short Eucharist in Andover Chapel at HDS.
Tuesdays at 5:30pm
On Tuesday evenings, Olivia (our Kellogg Fellow) frequently attends the Eucharist hosted by the brothers at The Society of Saint John the Evangelist, which is located on Memorial Drive, right by the Charles River. On the first Tuesday of each month, the brothers of SSJE invite guests to share a simple meal with them after the service. This is a great opportunity to get to know members of the broader Episcopal community in Cambridge and Boston. If you’re interested in more information, email Olivia (email@example.com).
Wednesdays at 8:15pm
We offer a weekly service of Night Prayer (modeled on the traditional Anglican service called “Compline”) in the ECH Offices at 2 Garden Street. Cookies and tea will follow; bring your friends!
Baptism & Confirmation: Being Christian
We also have a Baptism & Confirmation Program every spring. This course is open for those who would like to be baptized, to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church, or to be received into the communion of our church from another Christian denomination or communion. It is equally open to those who simply want to learn more about what we believe and how we live! This year, we’ll be working through Rowan Williams’ short book, Being Christian. If you’re interested or have any questions, please contact the Chaplain, Luther, at Luther_Zeigler@harvard.edu.
Service and Community
Our service activities change based on the year and liturgical season; for the newest updates, please check out our What’s Happening Page, look at our Facebook, or email our Kellogg Fellow (firstname.lastname@example.org). For the past two years, we’ve participated in the Boston Walk for Hunger, which benefits Project Bread at the Greater Boston Food Bank. Last year’s activities also included participating in Interfaith Service Day around Thanksgiving, volunteering for a shift at the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter. A previous Micah Fellow also co-founded the Harvard Interfaith Prison Education Program (HIPE), which our Kellogg Fellow coordinates.
Throughout the year we have fun events including Two Garden BBQs, a December Christmas Cookie Decorating Party, our January Student Retreat, and many other social events yet to be determined! In the spring, we also host a Lenten Lecture Series, in addition to co-hosting with the HDS Episcopal/Anglican Fellowship the New England Anglican Studies (NEAS) Conference.
